Year 5/6 Camp Writing

Walt: write about our experiences on camp.

Have you been on year 5 & 6 camp befor? Well the year 5’s & 6’s did that very thing. It was fun.

It was placed at Pt england school on the field. It was from Wednesday to Friday. We slept in tents that had 1-3 other people in them. My tent had Me, Deavay and Leiite. We did 6 different rotations thay were killzone, get lost, youth town, free time in the hall, kayaking and concert practice and bike track. On Thursday night we had the concert and on Wednesday we watched storks. (how you like me now).

My favourite part was the part in storks when pigen tony seas “how you like me now” and “puder th th th baybe puder” . also someone fell out of there kayak.

Jim the Robot

I love building things. When I saw  G15KS Meccano kit, my heart was set on it. I wanted it! So last year I started saving up for it. As I was watching my balance increase I was getting closer and closer to my goal of $500.

Finally I reached my goal and ordered exactly what I wanted online. The downside was I had to wait 2-3 days as it was coming from the USA, it felt like I was waiting forever! When it arrived I was so excited I started making it straight away.

It took me about 3 days to complete my project. My robot was born and I called it Jim. I like to make Jim do funny things such as pretending it is on fire, acting like a person, pretending to be the terminator. It is so much fun to play with!

One way that I can play with Jim is by coding him. To do this I would press the red button twice, to record not only my voice but also Jim's movement. I am learning to code him using my Chromebook in the future. This is great as I can truly get him to act like a human.

Native birds in Tāmaki

Walt: write persuasively.

What kind of native birds do you see around Tāmaki?  I think that having native birds will be good for Tāmki because thay help the environment. They also bring native bugs.

I think that we need the. Tui because thay are brity, and sing very well. And thay spread seeds. So it will be good for one and all.

We need the kiwi in Tāmaki. The Kiwi is endangered so it would be good if it was in tāmaki. They also spread the spread seeds so there is more spread around trees.

I think that we need les Pigeons In Tāmaki. Because Pigeons are boring and they eat the food that the native birds eat. Also we see them all the time, they are also pests.

One I want to see more cool native birds and les non native birds. More people would come to Tāmaki to see them and it will stop them from becoming extinct. They also look good.

Task description: we lerned about birds last week and now we are writing about them and way we want more of them.
