This week in maths we had to create a business plan. We had to work out the cost of our resources, how much to sell our product/ service for and how much profit we could make. My group ended up selling our chocolate cornflake cakes. We made 30 and sold them for $2 each, making $45 profit.

Today me and king made mince with gravy and potato salad it was realy good.

KPMG #3

Today me and the year 7&8 extension group went to KPMG. This time we learnt a bit about sustainability and the environment. We had some morning tea and lunch that they provided it was amazing. At the end we made a robot from recycled things (it did not work) but it was fun nonetheless.Thanks to KPMG for having us and I can't wait for next time.

Cleaning The Garden

Today me and my step dad did somw work in the yard. Frist me nad my little brother checked the yard for dog poo, we did this so that when we mowed the lawn we would not mow up poo as this would be grose. Once we did the me and my step dad moved some planst to better plases so they looked nice. After that my step dad helped set up the lawn mower, then I started mowing the front yard while he was weed whacking I was mowing the lawn. The way I mowed the law was sarting at the back of the yard and right on the outside of the property and going up and down once youve done the frist line you torn around and make shore that the wheals of the lawn mower and on the pre mowed part of the grass. When we were finishes I made me and my little brother noodels.

Mince pockets

Step 1- dice onion and it with mince untill it's cooked

Step 2 - Add 2 tbsp of flour and 1/2 cup of hot water strit for 5 mins and take it off the heat.

Step 3 - cut pastry into 4 equal pieses fill the bottum 2 pieses with the mince and put the other sheet of pastry on top seal it with fork going along the edges - bake untill golden brown.

Today me and King made chiken wraps. Frist we diced the tomatos and sliced some lettes. then we spred some mayo on the tortila and aded the tomato, lettuce and some pre cooked chicken. the we ate it.

The Planet-Ball

This may just look like a hand ball but it is a very small ecosystem. Like a little planet, half the planet is green and the other orange. The parts that have dirt on them don't have dirt on them at all it is acualy mautains. The domanent speses om this planet is thriveing like we hope to it's like utopia on some thing as small as a handball! They are like little himans bilding little homes, with little goverments and they love it. most of the planet is mountais so there is not mutch space to have masive citys so the towns aren't that big the biggest city has 10,000 people living in it that is the biggest one on the whole planet. So maybe the the small population helped with the happenes of the people.

Waiuku Trail Run

Today me and my family went to Waiuku. Me, My mum, Roman, kauri and Bethan ran a trail. It was easy at the start but after a bit it got hard like really hard so I jogged with Roman for most of the way. The trees were really cool and the cutty grass looked like little volcanoes. Near the end of the run there was a giant mud puddle, at the beginning of the puddle there was a man in a gorilla suit telling people to go in the mud or if they want to go around how to get around it. I decided to go through the mud, halfway I slipped in the mud and got my hands really muddy the mud got all up my arm and everything. That was one of the best bits of the run.

Cornwall moss myth

Today me and my family went to Cornwall national park. while we were there I found something magical. This thing was a bit of dry moss, but not just any moss it was the moss off the head of an ancient tree Int. This bit of hair was lost in battle. The Int was fighting a horde of bandits, one of such bandits threw an axe at the Int’s head and thus the hair was lost, only to be found by me at Cornwall national park.

Greta Thumbergn

Greta Thumberg, Greta is a 16 year old swedish girl who has been striking for the climate since she was 15. However she has been conscious of the environment since she was 11. It was at this point she became depressed; stopped eating, stopped talking, stopped going to school. She also stopped eating meat and dairy, buying things, when she started talking with her parents they decided to do this too. After a while she decided to take it to her school and so now every friday her school strikes for the climate. She has become a very influential person and is doing a lot for the planet. She strikes to this day and hopefully will continue to do so for a long time onward.

Asian food

Today we are trying Korean Kimchi and Thai; Pad Thai. Frist we are having Kimchi, Kimchi is pickled cabbage that smells like sweet thai chilli. It tastes like cabbage with chilli. The Pad Thai was nice and sweet, the lemon balanced it with a good sour flavour.

South American food

Today in room 4 we tried empanadas they are a traditional dish from Argentina which is in South America. They smell like beef mince with a bit of paprika and pastry. They kind of look like large dumplings. the pastry is soft and easy to bite through and the meat was sweet and only slightly spicy.

Fractions

Today in maths we are learning how to Multiply fractions, e.g. 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/4, 1/4 x 1/4 = 1/16...
I thought that it was kind of easy, but it was interesting nontheless.

How to make olive oil

How do people make olive oil? There are two ways to make it, the traditional way and the modern way. Do you use olive oil?

The process starts with the picking of the fruit. Traditional harvesting methods are with a small rake kind of thing, but with larger farms they use machines that shake the olives off the trees.

After they have picked the fruit they ship them (or just drive them) to the factory. Once they get there they are washed. First they are just rinsed, but to get rid of the stubborn sticks they are put though a grid that they get stuck in.

Once they are washed they are sent to the grinder. Traditionally there is a period were the fruit sits around before grinding, but this affects the quality of the oil. In the old method you also use marble grinders to mush the olives and the pips all into a pulp. The more modern way fixes two of these problems. In the factory the fruit is sent to the grinder strate away and the olives are grinded slowly. This helps keep the temperature of the pulp down, if the pulp gets to be over 27℃ it will effect the quality of the oil. 

Next the people press the oil out of the olives. The traditional way to get the oil out is to layer the mush between big sheets of rubber. Then it is put on a hydraulic press and they squeeze the oil out. The more modern but less effective way is to put the pulp in a centrifuge To get the water out of it. Water and oil have different densities so they will be separated in the machine as it spins. They then siphon out the oil. 

Finally the oil is bottled in its dark green bottles and labeled. There is a good reason for this as well as the bottle is like a kind of sun screen stopping the sun from getting to the oil. Then you buy it from the shops and use it for cooking and eating.

Reflection Of Mediterranean Food

Today we tried mediterranean food. We had feta cheese and bruschetta breed with olive oil on it. In my family we eat this stuff normally so I like all of it.

Then we talked about food that is popular in France like pastry and cheese. We tried some pan au chocolat, which is french for breed with chocolate. I though it was good and very enjoyable, but as I do I like a lot of food so that typical for me.

remember what was in it but it was realy good.

Today we made an English breakfast it was very nice the bacon was espesaly yum. but it was all genraly amazing.

3# FTCU Hansel und Gretel

WARNING: If you haven’t read GolDieLocs And The Three Bears FTCU #1 or The Nine Little Pigs FTCU #2.  then you should read that first. As it is the first two in the Fairy Tale Cinematic Universe. Oh by the way if the writing is like sideways like it is now than that meant that I am talking kind of like a narrator but not you know.

“Get oooouuuuuutt!!!! … Get oooouuuuuutt … Get oooouuuuuutt!!!! … Get oooouuuuuutt … !!!!” “ B-t… bu… but-t” “Get oooooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutt!!!!”. They were angry this was normal in this house, Hansel and Gretel were ones again kicked out of there house by there mad as frick parents. So as they did every time their mum and dad had a fight, they went for walk but today it wasn’t raining but it was stormy as stromy can be. There was lightning and flying trees but no water, so as they always did they went into the woods but with this strange storm the woods were different they had been in these woods a bajillion times, but it was not like it was now, as all stupid kids do in these kinds of stories they went in anyway (of course they did). After a bit of walking they came across a house, this house was not a normal house it was made of food “who on earth makes a house out of food?” asked Hansel “IDK,” replied Gretel (IDK means i don’t know. and they were abou 13 ish and still said outdated memes like Yeah boii, and did Super Smash bros intro videos, Pepe, Kermit, and dabing… soo yeah) but it wasn't like the OG Hansel and Gretel house (I mean it still had a witch in it but… yeah) the thing that was different about this house was that it wasn’t just dessert was a whole three course meal (and supper). The front yard was made of appetizers (like a lot of appetizers) the entrance way was made of mains and so was the living and dining/kitchen areas the bedrooms were maid of the tipical gigger bred and lolly thing and the bean bags were ice cream. The backyard was made of supper. (or something like that) TBC

2# FTCU The Nine Little Pigs (By Maanas)

WARNING: If you haven’t read GolDieLocs And The Three Bears. FTCU#1 then you should read that first. As it is the first story in the Fairy Tale Cinematic Universe.

“I thought it was gonna be a normal day. But I was wrong.” Since the wolf came everyone was living in fear. Even the porky pines were in fear of the wolf. There was only one wolf. But one was enough. They already killed my 6 brothers and sisters, Natalie Porkman, Pig Jr., Pig Sr. ,Pig Medium , Pig XL , Peter porker. I could not ‘Bear’ it . I was so sad. The wolf was selling my brothers and sisters to the bear family. I hope someone kills them mercilessly.

His friend Golina,who was a human had gold hair and was very strong was advising the pigs to wait for the perfect moment to get the wolf and the bears. Because Golina was the smartest and the strongest because she was a human the pigs agreed to her plan.Lots of years passed and the pigs’ lifespan was about to end. Everyday they watched the wolf and the bears. They spied on them and saw that they were attacking other pig families. They heard the bear saying about that there are not enough pigs left and they will eat the Pig Jr. Family they ate 5 years ago. The Pigs were afraid so they told golina to attack the bear family with some guns and swords they prepared. Golina agreed and they finally planned to attack them on the 4th of May because the force was with them( And also because Golina was a big Star Wars fan ). The pigs thought to make their own house so they can be safe until the 4th of May. The first pig unfortunately named, Pig tres, made his house with straws.(I know it’s dumb)The wolf saw his ‘tall’ and ‘Strong’ Straw building and decided to blow it. He just ju jitsu - nin jitsued it. The same happened with the Second pig, named PIg uno, who saw his brother die and decided to make his house out of sticks, and the wolf blew it too. For the last pig, Pig dos , He made his out of bricks but the wolf climbed the house and killed the last pig. The wolf sold the pigs to the bear family. On the May of 4th, Golina couldn’t find the pigs so decided to kill the wolf herself. Years passed and golina is in her 20s. She was walking in the forest and saw a hut. She remembered her story and smirked.

I the holidays I went to my grandmas house for the first week with my little brother. It was good, we went to the movies and saw the new DC movie Shazam it was a good movie. Other than that I didn't do much else so that was fun I helped my Pops with fire wood that was good.

war War is a controversial topic. And I want to talk about it. This is probably my business, and I can not say it. And clearly ... WA-R never does Eveis the answer and we need all patients. And in that context, I think you're all wrong. Now I understand that the war has killed tens of thousands of people and when there was a weapon. No, we return to 1400 or back. Especially in Europe, in the war and after a single fight, Agincourt was very far from English because 20,000 to 30,000 fought in French and I believe they won (English is not French). Well, I would say that most people are at  war, but it should not be a war. It is a new concept that began at the beginning of the 20th century. I would say that war is one of the things that make us human beings, and without them becoming a central leader who can ignore us because every country in America State would be and every state should have big cities and so on. That's why I'm fine.

Treaty of Waitangi Game Design Process

In the above presentation, Me and Maanas made 5 possible game ideas that are related to the Treaty Of Waitangi. We are supposed to think of a game which could be played in most schools to tell people about the Treaty that keeps all cultures together in New Zealand.

Our first idea was to make a Super Mario World Rom hack where you play as Mario who is a maori. You need to save the 'princess' who is the Treaty and bowser is the pakeha people.

As for our second idea, we have City Skylines which is a city building game on Steam ( The most well known platform to buy games ) and in the original game you can build any type of city so we will use that idea in our game. The player can make a city with industrial, commercial and residential areas for the maori people and after their city reaches the population of 10,000 people they would need to make the Treaty which will make everyone unite and also it will show to origins of the treaty.

Then for the Third Idea, we thought of Civilization in which you start your own " Civilization " and meet everybody. In our version of the game we have a maori civilization who will do all the things that happened in 1830s and 1840s So the player can experience everything that happened during those days.

For our Fourth Idea, We are thinking of making a version of Super Smash Bros. Especially when its new sequel has sold 12.08 million copies in 24 days.  The 30 games have sold more than 15 million copies and Smash Ultimate sold 12.08 million copies just in 24 days. We thought to make Maori people as the good people and pakeha people as the bad people.

For our final idea, wanted to make Diablo, which is an open world RPG game in which you learn things yourself. You earn money by killing enemies to get better armour so you get more money and the cycle repeats and it doesn't get boring. We thought to make the main character maori and Diablo as pakeha.

Today after morning tea room four handed out some coloured paper, and we had to write our name on the top of the paper. than we sent the paper around and say on nice thing on it. It was FUN!!!

Use Words Precisely

Today we had a poetry lesson and it was cool because we wrote a poem about sour patch kids. It was very short so we had to be careful with our words.

The Key Words Reflection, for control tech

In control tech we Learned how use key word to search for things. Key Words means words that directly relate to what you'er searching about. An example of one that I have done is (images + cartoon + detective + police + animal characters) this is a search that we did as a task to find images that related to this search. The reason that we put the + in the search is to tell the internet that we want the separate words no one big sentence if the +es weren't there then the web would think that we want a website that has a sentence with all of those words in it. Same if we put quotes than the inteweb thinks the same thing as with the + if u put them both together we will get less hits.

In this class I learned to explore and just ad stuff that related to the thing we are searching, If I were to use this skill again it would most probably would be in college.

What I Did When You Were At Polyfest

In the morning block I was in Miss Parrant’s class, while I was there I finished my writing. For the rest of the day I was in MR Goodwin’s class. Mr Goodwin is my favorite teacher, in his class I played some cool maths games and that's what I did when you where at Polyfest.

TV... Where Do I Put It?

Mrs Tele’a doesn’t where know where to put here new TV. So she asked us where we think it should go. That is what this piece is about.

Assuming that there is already a TV there. I think that the TV should go in the family room. The stereotypical Family room is bigger than most of the rooms. So the bigger TV should go in the bigger room.

If the TV goes in  the family room then the family can watch family movies in the family room. This is a good and reclast way to spend time as a family, watching documentaries can be interesting.

If there is a TV in the family room already than, the other TV can go in Mrs Tele'a’s room anyway. Thus making it a win/win.

So there you have Mrs Tele’a. The bigger TV should go in the might be bigger room, you can spend time as a family and if there is already a TV in the family room than the other TV can go in your room.
