VE day

Activity 1: VE Day!
After six long years of fighting, World War II finally came to an end in 1945. The entire country was ecstatic and parties were thrown all over New Zealand to celebrate VE Day (Victory in Europe). Imagine that you were living in New Zealand in 1945 and you had to plan a VE day party at your house. Who would you invite? What would you do to celebrate?

On your blog, tell us all about your (imaginary) VE party.

I would invite all the people I know and have a rely big party and they can do whatever. well eat hot dogs, pies, sandwiches and other food.

  1. Hi Justice!

It's great to see that you have been blogging so much over the summer holiday. I hope that you have enjoyed the programme so far! It's hard to believe that today is the last day.

I have been really busy working with all of our staff and I haven't had much time to sit down and post comments myself. Fortunately, today I have some time to go through the awesome activity posts and provide comments!

I really enjoyed reading your post about your VE Day party. Like you, I would invite everyone who I know and serve them lots of special food. I can see that you would choose hot dogs, pies and sandwiches. I would also choose these foods along with some sweet treats as I absolutely love to bake. My favourite thing to make is cupcakes! (They also happen to be Aronui's favourite thing to eat). What is your favourite sweet treat?

All the best for the rest of the holiday. Enjoy yourself and I will look forward to seeing you when I come to Pt England in Term 1 to hand out the prize packs and certificates for the Summer Learning Journey programme.

    See you soon!

    Rachel :)
