S.L.J Weird and Wonderful

Image result for awesome cactusI would need 3mls each day for 365 days to keep my cactus alive. Here is the calculation:

3ml x 300 = 900ml
3ml x 60 = 180ml
3ml x 5 = 15 mls
added together (900+180+15) = 1095ml

  1. Hey Justice, it's Billy here from the Summer Learning Journey programme. You might remember me from last summer. It's great to see that you are working hard again this year.

Congratulations on getting this activity correct. It's nice to have a couple of maths questions in the SLJ programme this year. Do you enjoy maths?

I like the partitioning strategy you've used where you have separated 365 into 300, 60 and 5. It makes it a lot easier when you are multiplying by three.

Since you are so clever, I was wondering if you would be able to tell me how much water a cactus plant would need over a ten year period?

    Good luck to you!
    Billy.
